Autumn At Our Doorstep

Come with me to Autumn's land
Of silver nights, and days bright gold.
A cottage at the wood's clearing awaits,
O'er sweet tea lets speak of tales untold.

Hear the laughter's echo sound,
This is music if truth be told.
Blended with a dry leaves' whiff,
The tea's aroma stands so bold.

Let us rejoice our reminiscence,
Sip and marvel as we remember,
Times of our insanity,
Us crazy friends' spent together.

Blooming spring; February, March, April,
May, June and July; the wild summer,
And witty winters followed suite,
Our November and December.

The pithiest of things,
Gave way to the laughs.
The warmest espresso,
Made the favorite quaffs.

When there was a will,
There was a way.
Despite the deepest of dismay,
A song to every tune we would play.

And silently the minutes ticked away,
In quiescence, the years crept.
And it's here in its gold and silver
It's autumn at our doorstep.
