Soldier's Wife

Written in blood, sealed with a promise,My letter of love shall kiss your palms.
For I would've departed; a martyr at war,
For paradise, away from the qualms.
Cry not, my lady fair,
A martyr's wife you'd be.
To give my life I lived my fable,
To avenge me, is your destiny.
Sing for me, my lovely,
Sing for our children dear.
Sing to them of my chivalry,
My martyrdom; austere
Cry not! For my mind did never,
Forget you when I fell.
Your hazel eyes, the rosy blush,
I spoke to death, to compell,
To spare me a hasty moment's spur,
In my shallow dearth of time,
To write to you my lovely,
One last loving rhyme.
They'd bring me in a coffin,
In my nation's flag I'd rest,
Kiss the hearse like a knight's love,
For you too have been blessed.
Wife of a soldier! Shed no tear,
For I fell only to rise.
In eyes of my Lord who made me strong,
Meant for paradise.
And when I'd knock at heaven's door,
They'd ask me an eternal plight,
Your hand I'd seek for the next life,
And so we shall unite.
Cry not! Oh, my lady fair,
With pride narrate my tale,
Speak of me in the present,
Never a story gone stale.
I've been spoken for, my love!
They've come for me, I must depart,
I do not leave you empty,
With this, I seal my heart.
Keep it alive and beating,
Bring it to heaven's gate,
A martyr's wife you'd be,
No angel would relegate.
Written in blood, sealed with a promise,
When my letter reaches thee,
Smile for me my lovely,
A soldier's wife you were meant to be.
